When is the best time to come to Zambia?
The Southern Hemisphere winter is the best time to view birds and wildlife – the vegetation is sparse so animals and birds tend to gather around water sources and are easier to see – the dry season runs from the end of April to late October.
Temperatures range from around 30°during the day to as low as 5° or less at night so the days are comfortable and the nights are spent sitting round a camp fire under wonderful clear skies.
Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp is cut off by water during the rainy season and is open only from April to early November.
The rainy season from November to March brings its own lush green beauty. Waterberry Zambezi Lodge is not affected by the rainy season and remains open all year.
During the rainy season humidity is high and the temperature during both day and night is higher – averaging from 35-20°day to night. Frogs, amazing moths and active birdlife characterise this season
