Where will you stay during your trip?
Nanzhila Plains Safari Camp
Kafue is the largest national park in Zambia, 22500 square kilometres, the size of small country. The park has sprung back to life from a history of poaching and is now home to the greatest wildlife diversity of any Zambian park….. more antelope species, all the predators, large populations of elephant and buffalo. Plus close to 500 bird species recorded, including the Black-Cheeked Lovebird, Wattled Crane, Saddle-Bill Stork, Goliath Heron……and many many more.
Nanzhila Plains Camp is set amongst woodland in the remote southern section of the Kafue – so on birding walks and on game drives it is you, and only you, who sees the game – the next camp is three hours away.
Nanzhila is staffed by expert guides and local staff for whom the Camp is a major livelihood – by choosing local staff, builders, materials and working with the villagers the camp has committed to improving the life and prospects of this remote community.
On the banks of the small river from which it takes its name Nanzhila has a variety of thatched lodges and luxury tents and a central boma…. For more information about the Camp click here.
Waterberry Zambezi Lodge
Victoria Falls is one of the natural wonders of the world and a World Heritage Site, its constant spray forming a microsystem of tropical rainforest…….the Zambezi River is home to hundreds of species of birds that can be spotted either from the river or guided walks along the wooded banks. Different species can be found in different areas of riverbank…………and on into Botswana along the Chobe river.
Waterberry Zambezi Lodge is remotely situated on the banks of the Zambezi, yet only half an hour from Victoria Falls and Livingstone Town………. so giving all the benefits of being close to the Falls and all the activities surrounding them but with a feeling of being in true riverbank wilderness.
Most staff walk in daily from local villages and working at Waterberry supplements the traditional subsistence culture of farming and fishing.
The lodge is set on the river front with sweeping lawns enclosed by a private dam. Accommodation is in thatched lodges surrounding the main boma on the banks of the Zambezi. For more information click here.
